Cliff Hutchison

Cliff Hutchison has been a house-hold name around here lately. AND I love the house that I live in because…an amazing guitar playin husband equals people with amazing vocal chords will come over to record and practice quite frequently, which of course means, I get to camp out next to the studio while they lay down smooth tracks that make my ear drums do happy dances for hours.

If you are bored tonight and just happen to be in THE Little Rock Arkansas, then stop by Jaunitas and listen to my friend Mark Currey and Cliff open up for who??? It will not disappoint. I wish these vocals would build a home in my ear canal.

Here are a few pics that I took of one of Cliff’s show’s, featuring the ever so famous Tim Byers, bass playin Dawson Jones and the always sexy Dustin Raney.

Take a minute and learn more about Cliff and what he has been up to down in Argenta. This guy will go places.

I love it when Sam and Case swing by the studio for a visit! It’s amazing what 3 months can do to children. Breckon could not contain herself while we did this shoot and neither could I, really. Heart breakers I tell you.

Graham turned ONE.

Remember this little guy? Well, he turned ONE, last month (yes, I’m running WAYY behind on my blog posts) BUT I just had to show you his sweet little face again. His party theme was “rock-n-roll” so Jenna wanted to snap a few pics of Graham in front of his daddy’s guitar for the b-day announcements. Isn’t he delicious?

Nall Wedding

Posted on April 2, 2013 » Filed in Uncategorized » Link

I need to make this little preface short because I’ve chosen to post a gazillion bazillion images from this wedding day. I had so many favorites and it’s probably because Jennifer and Bryce were incredible to work with. Both are so laid back, so easy to be around and they just went with the flow of the day. Anyone who gets married on a trolley HAS to be some kind of marvelous. To the Nalls, thank you for allowing me to capture this lovely day. It will go down as one of my all time favorite events to ever shoot!

My TWO year old.

I was about 4 months pregnant and we were sitting on the couch at home in a complete daze. We had just found out that we were having a, UH, GIRL. “REALLY???”, was the first thing that came out of my mouth when I saw her little hoo-ha on the ultra sound. A GIRL. OK. So we sat for days trying to think of a name. We had a boy name all picked out and ready for pick up. But, neeeerrrr, not this time. I really wanted a name that meant something to us, like our boy name.

One night, my parents and I were reminiscing about old times where I grew up (Hobbs, NM) and my dad mentioned an old street that we had driven down everyday while we lived there. That street was named “Breckon” and at the mere mention, I knew it. I humbly, softly said to Dustin “oh, Breckon, that’s special. Lots of things special about that”. His sweet smile and answer was a quiet, long “hmmmmmmm…I love it”. And there it was. Breckon Dale. And the “Dale” comes from Dustin’s grandfather whom he never had the chance to meet but he for sure left a name that we hope to take with us generations down the line.

And GIRL, am I so blessed to have a GIRL. She is the highlight of my day, the sparkle to every “stawwwrrrr” (star) that I notice now.  She is the calm to my storm, and the STORM to my calm. Breckon Dale Raney, I have no doubt that God has you here for so many crazy, special reasons. You have changed my life for the better. I pray daily for your loud, spunky personality…and that God will give me the strength to raise you to be a thriving, intelligent, trusting, loving little girl who will touch every life that you encounter. I am in love with you my precious first born. HAPPY BIRTHDAY sweet Brecky Breck Brecks, Monkey Boo, doodoo head, munchkin eater, doll face.

Carson

Well, he is here. Carson James Hicks has arrived and he is perfect as perfect can get. Most newbie babies look all the same. Scrawny, red, pasty, squishy, smelly (choose your favorite adj) little newbies. But not this one. I mean, look at his perfectly woven together little body and face? He is PERFECT. I’m so proud of Krecia and Patch for, basically, dominating parent-hood. I knew they would. What a lucky and perfect (have I said perfect yet?) baby boy.

Opus Ball 2012

Posted on February 15, 2013 » Filed in candid, Events, fashion, glamour, people » Link

I had the distinct privilege to photograph the 2012 Opus Ball for the 4th time. This is probably my favorite event to shoot because it’s the only time I get to check out (up close and personal) the most beautiful ball gowns in Arkansas. I’m not much of a “dresser upper” kind of gal, but every time I see these exquisite woman all dolled up to the nines, I sigh and pretend I’m there being swept off of my feet while dancing the night away. THEN I realize I have my big fat camera in my hands with yucky black dress pants on and I quickly, get back to work. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra holds a ball each year to raise money for the many music programs that it offers to Arkansas. This year it was hosted by Scott and Shayla Copas. And as you can see, many of the famous faces of Arkansas just happened to be there like the governor Mike Beebe, Mayor Stodola, and the always charming Craig O’Neill.

These 3 kiddos were tiny little babies when I first met them. And look at them now. Fun and true story, Canon (the youngest of the 3) was my first human to ever photograph and witness being brought into this world. And I only fainted ONCE but April was too drugged to notice so let’s not mention that to her. Actually, it was a day I will never forget and will be a memory I hold dear to my heart! April and I (along with amy) have been best friends for around 9 years now (i stopped counting). Through thick and thin, I’ve been blessed by April in too many ways. She has MAD CRAZY style and I am always inspired when I go over to her home. She always seems to be on the cusp of modern ideas and I love having her to turn to when I run into decor road blocks. Fashionista, SHE IS. And her CHILDREN? Take a look for yourself.

bev

If there has ever been anyone in my life who has been able to make me laugh so hard that I actually thought I was going to die, it would be my seeeeester, Bev. Some of you may know her from her blog bevcooks but I know her as my older sister. My way way WAAAAAYYY older sister. Like, the one who is 4 years older than me. She’s MUCH much older. The one who tortured me with her friends as they drove me out to the desolate desert at night and pretended that the car broke down and left me stranded all ALONE. The one who threw locust shells over the shower curtain WHILE I was showering. The one who came to my rescue as I screamed bloody murder because I thought that there was an actual human ARM in my bed at 2:30 AM. The one who would ALWAYS let me crawl into bed with her when I was scared at night. The one who cried with me when she went off to college. The one who asked me to sing in her wedding. The one who sang in my wedding. The one who was there with me as I gave birth. The one whom I absolutely could not do without our everyday chats. That’s my sister, Bev.

And she also let me order her around during this photo-shoot (for a change)! I seriously love you, BEEV. “sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters”. And isn’t she GAW-GUS?
